The Bearded dragon is naturally from the hot and arid regions of Australia but now they  can be found all over the world as pets. They make ideal pets because of their calm temperament, friendly nature and individual character. These characteristics have made the bearded dragon the most popular lizard species to own  especially for children. They are reasonably inexpensive, easily available and make a great pet.

Bearded dragons are diurnal meaning they are active in daylight and when fully grown they can reach a length of 45 to 60 cm. They enjoy climbing and need rocks and decor that will help this, they also require a hiding place in a cooler spot.

The Bearded dragons available today have all been bred in captivity due to the fact that it is illegal to export them from the wild in Australia. This is helping to preserve the Bearded Dragon in its natural habitat.
